University of Daugavpils will hold an International scientific – practical conference

On April 24-26 University of Daugavpils will hold the 10th International Conference on Biodiversity Research. The conference is organized once every two years by the Institute of Life Sciences and Technologies of University of Daugavpils. This year more than 80 scientists from 7 countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Belarus, Switzerland, Poland) will present results from their research in fields of zoology, botany, mycology, population ecology, paleobiology, environmental protection and other fields. Participants will present oral and poster reports on current biodiversity topics: biodiversity of intraspecies and interspecies, biodiversity of land and water ecosystem, the decreasing of biodiversity (due to climate change, increase of land-use intensity, expansion of invasive species, overuse of resources, environment pollution and other factors), also there will be some insights regarding questions related to impact of specific living organisms on human health.

The first day of the conference (April 24) is organized within the framework of the specific support objective’s 1.1.1.5. Support for international collaboration projects in research and innovation project No. 1.1.1.5/18/I/013 “Support for University of Daugavpils for implementation of scientific innovations and promotion of international research capacity”.
