The Faculty of Humanities was founded in 1952. It has around 700 students that study to get their Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral degree or teacher’s certificate. There are 80 teachers in the faculty. 46,3% of faculty’s teachers have doctoral degree, there are also 7 professors, 13 associate professors. The faculty has two approved Promotion Boards in fields of literature (history of foreign literature and comparative literary science) and linguistics.
Visiting teachers from England, USA, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia are involved in the teaching process. The Faculty of Humanities has concluded co-operation contracts with Vytautas Magnus University and Siauliai University.
