Daugavpils University

On June 7th at 17:00 Latgale Song Festival will be held at an open-air concert place ‘Stropi’, Daugavpils.

2015 is the anniversary year for Daugavpils – the city becomes 740 years old, however Latgale Song Festival will mark 75th birthday, which will be celebrated on June 7th. 100 collectives and about 3000 persons from other Latvian regions will participate in the event. Different kinds of chorus, wind orchestras, folk collectives and dance ensambles will perform during the concert. There will be a possibility to enjoy masterpieces of Latvian and Latgalian composers, but the Latgale Song Festival will be using their own flag for the first time, which was created by artist Silva Veronika Linarte.

Entrance is free of charge.

The festival is organized by Daugavpils City council, Culture Department of Daugavpils City Council and Latvian National Culture Centre. The festival is financially supported by State Culture Capital Foundation.
