New E-mobiles of Daugavpils University

On December 4, 2014 four new Volkswagen e-Ups! of Daugavpils University had been presented. Rector of Daugavpils University, Arvīds Barševskis, during his speech emphasized the necessity of eco thinking and green living, as well as a nature friendly management: “Daugavpils University actively realizes a number of projects in cooperation with the European Union funds with purpose to develop and improve study conditions and quality. It is possible to think green in different ways; however the purchase of e-mobiles is one more step towards decreasing the environment pollution”.
The new e-mobiles being fully charged are able to be used for 160 km driving. Volkswagen e-Up! needs 11,7 kWh of electricity for 100 km distance. Costs of driving are 1,76 EUR or approximately 1,4 of one litre of petrol.
