Open competition for the selection of doctoral students and candidates within the framework of Project Applications Selection First and Second Round of Specific Objective 8.2.2 “To Strengthen Academic Staff of Higher Education Institutions in the Areas of Strategic Specialization” “Support for the employment of doctoral students and candidates at the Daugavpils University”
Direction of Study:
- Life sciences (4 positions)
- Language and Culture Studies, Native Language Studies and Language Programmes (4 positions)
- Economics (4 positions)
- Health Care (4 positions)
- Education, Pedagogics and Sports (5 positions)
Project goal – to renew Daugavpils University academic staff by employing doctoral students and doctoral degree candidates at the Daugavpils University.
Project results – 90% of doctoral students and doctoral degree candidates who have received ESF funding continue to work as academic staff at the Daugavpils University.
Deadline for application – 01/04/2021
Duration of employment – not less than 12 months.
Requirements for the applicant:
– motivation to engage in academic work for at least 12 months and desire to continue work after completion of the project
– doctoral students or scientific degree candidates doing final years of studies are given preference (amount of credit points) Documents to be submitted:

– CV in the Europass sample format
– list of publications

Requirements for applicants:
- person, who has taken any academic position in one of accredited foreign higher schools for at least five years
- person with a doctor’s degree in the corresponding or similar area of science
- person with experience in scientific / creative work
- person, who has publications / creative works in the corresponding or similar area of science
- person with experience in elaboration and improvement of learning and study materials
- person, who uses innovative teaching methods in the study process
- person with good English language skills (at least C1 according to Europass evaluation table) and is able to use the language in the teaching and methodological work
Documents to be submitted:
- application addressed to the Rector
- CV in Europass format
- copy of the diploma with scientific degree / master degree
- list of publications within the last five years
Deadline for application – 01/04/2021
Duration of employment – Each successful applicant is offered an academic position at Daugavpils University for 6 months in one of the following periods (applying, please, select the time period of your choice):
1) 2018/2019 academic year;
2) 2019/2020 academic year;
3) 2020/2021 academic year;
